Luck and LeCure
Guys, I honestly don’t know how it happened or why, but I am the luckiest girl in the world. When it comes to the Reds Hot Stove League show, at least.
Angie (finally!) is home from school for winter break, so we decided to head down to Holy Grail last night to celebrate. Also, we knew that Sam LeCure would be there and we didn’t want to miss our chance to say hi.
We headed down and it was really fun, as always. Sam took listener and audience questions, accompanied by the city’s favorite father-son team, Marty and Thom. At the show, they always give away fun prizes. If you follow us on Twitter, you know that last time I went (three weeks ago, I think), I was the lucky winner of a signed, framed photo of Jay Bruce. The baseball gods were smiling upon me again last night. I was on my way to the bathroom when I heard Marty call my name. As I tried to rush to the stage, I heard him counting down the seconds until my prize became someone else’s. I was almost to the stage when I looked up and saw my delightful little cohort Angie, gladly accepting my prize on my behalf. Thank you, sis. Here’s me with my winnings, a framed photo of Joey Votto:
The Hot Stove League show is really doing a lot for my memorabilia collection.
When the show was over, we didn’t want to miss our chance to say hello to one of our favorite Reds. We introduced ourselves to Mr. LeCure and he was totally awesome, just as we always suspected! Here’s Angie and I with Sammy and Cornelius:
Sam is definitely a great guy and a class act, and we were really psyched to finally meet him and steal a pic.
There are only two more Hot Stove League shows, and I urge you to head to at least one of them before it’s over. I has quickly become my new favorite offseason event. Also, the beer is always good.
