Good Day Sunshine!

Well, Selection Sunday for the 2012 All Star Game was yesterday! Joey Votto, Aroldis Chapman and Jay Bruce will be representing our Redlegs in Kansas City this year! Yay! I think it goes without saying that Brandon Phillips and Johnny Cueto got snubbed hard, which is so so annoying. But, I guess they didn’t want to make everyone else jealous that the Reds ball so hard.

Speaking of ballin’ so hard, Mat Latos was named the National League Player of the Week! Which, why wouldn’t he be, what with those two complete games and 20 strikeouts in 18 innings? Congrats Mat!

The Reds split the series with San Francisco yesterday and remain 1 game ahead of Pittsburgh in the NL Central. Today, we begin our second to last series before the All Star Break against the Dodgers! Let’s get ‘em, Redlegs!
