Season Ticket Guide: Giveaways
In eight days, the Rockin’ Redlegs crew is heading down to Great American Ballpark to purchase our 2012 Season Ticket package at the Select-a-Seat event! We’re all very excited about another year of season tickets, but we’ve accidentally neglected to decide on exactly what package we want. So, in an effort to make an informed decision, I’ve been researching the different packages. To help out all of our loyal readers who have not yet selected their tickets, I have decided to compose my findings into a handy guide!
GIVEAWAYS
Obviously, getting to watch Reds baseball is enough of an incentive to come to the ballpark, but who doesn’t love free stuff? In this installment of the Season Ticket Guide, I’ve outlined the promotional giveaways included in each package.
I obviously did not research the Full Season, Half-Season, Weeknight, or Weekend packages because I think those are fairly self-explanatory.
The 20-game mix package is what the Rockin’ Redlegs crew purchases each year. It is affordable and provides excellent opportunities for various games. Since most season ticket holders have either this plan or the 13 game plan, those are the ones on which I will exclusively focus.

As far as giveaways go, Mix A and Mix B are about even. Mix B gets my personal vote because I need the Jay Bruce Bobblehead. The Weekend Mix is excellent if you have children – almost all of the giveaways are kid-oriented. The Weeknight Mix has considerably less giveaways than the first three, but it does have tickets to both Bark in the Park events – if that is a priority for you, you’re in luck! Another note about the Weeknight Mix: not all of the games are at night. A good amount of them are the Business Day games with 12:35 pm start times. So, I’m going to go ahead and rename the 20-Game Weeknight package the “Dog Lover’s Package.”
If you don’t think you can commit to 20 games, the Reds offer the Baker’s Dozen packages (cute, huh?) – three different packages of 13 Friday, Saturday, or Sunday games.
FRIDAY PACKAGE
If you want giveaways, the Friday Baker’s Dozen package is not for you. The Friday package does have its promotional benefits, however – you get to attend all the Free Agent and Fireworks Fridays!

If you have children and want the 13-Game Sunday package, your kids will be flush with Reds items! If you are in your twenties or without children like me, do not get this package. The 13-Game Saturday package has some pretty solid giveaways – most of the coolest items are in this package. If giveaways are what you’re looking for, get the 13-Game Saturday.
Hopefully this helps you decide what package to buy if giveaways are important to you! And, if you’ve already bought your package, hopefully you can use this guide to look forward to the cool presents you’ll be getting courtesy of the Reds!
Stay tuned for tomorrow, where I focus on which package has the best opponents!
